OSI Design Group Graduate Assistant
(1 person; 20hrs/week each; paid)
Scope:
- Advises OSI Design Group student employees
- Nurtures and develops the skills of the design group employees
- Encourages student employees to tap into their talents by using: design tutorials, conference attendance, design publications, visits to local design groups, etc.
- Showcases talent of designers (finds competition opportunities/ exposure)
- Collects and organizes information from OSI agencies for the monthly calendars and weekly ads
- Responsible for flow and trafficking of work orders
- Assists with proofreading and editing design materials
- Responsible for general operations and efficiency of Design Group
- Keeps Design Group organized and stocked with items essential to operations
- Keeps OSI Design Group aware of upcoming events that need graphics in a timely manner
- Attends OSI staff meetings
- Conducts weekly meetings with OSI Design Group
- Organizes retreat
- Works on special projects for the OSI Design Group
- Leads preparation and defense of budget
Requirements:
- Highly proficient with Adobe Creative Suite Software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
- Knowledge of & ability to work on Windows/PC platform
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite of programs (word, excel, etc.)
- Ability to assist with design work, if necessary
- Strong organizational skills

OSI Graphic Designers
(4 people; 20hrs/week each; paid)
Scope:
- Creates ads, posters, banners, flyers, brochures, and other graphics requests
- Responsible for creating weekly ads & monthly calendars for OSI
- Ensures completion of graphics request in a timely manner
- Adheres to UCF and OSI policies for graphics standards
- Ensures that work is proofed before completion
- Assembles portfolio of completed work during the semester to be filed
- Keeps organized files of work orders
- Files portfolios into larger volume of work for use in budget meeting and also as a resource for people requesting work orders
- Keeps track of time it takes to complete each work order
- Works on special projects for the OSI Design Group
- Helps prepare and defend budget
Requirements:
- Highly proficient with Adobe Creative Suite Software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
- Knowledge of & ability to work on Windows/PC platform

Scope:
- Ensures design, implementation, and maintenance of the main OSI website along with associated OSI agency websites
- Perform maintenance and updates to existing websites when requested by fellow design group members and OSI staff
- Performs various tasks associated with the websites and components, such as: calendar administration, e-mail databases, and form management
- Ensures that the layout of the content is accessible and logical; recommending improvements if necessary
- Adheres to UCF and OSI policies for graphics standards
- Works on special projects for the OSI Design Group
- Helps prepare and defend OSI Design group budget
Requirements:
- Highly proficient with HTML, CSS web technologies
- Basic knowledge of JavaScript, PHP, MySQL
- Highly proficient with Dreamweaver and a graphics program such as Photoshop or Fireworks
- Knowledge of Adobe Flash is a plus
- Knowledge and experience working with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (Mac/PC, and IE, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
- Attention to detail and creativity in problem-solving
- Must possess prompt communication etiquette (email, phone calls, etc.)

OSI Design Group Marketing/Promotion Coordinator
(1 person; 20hrs/week; paid)
Scope:
- Conducts market research & determines where & how to best advertise to best meet the current need of UCF students & make them aware of events
- Helps promote knowledge of all OSI agencies to UCF students
- Job includes working with various departments, such as building managers and university marketing, to ensure proper, timely, and appropriate distribution of promotional materials
- Coordinates promotions of activities going on in OSI and distribution techniques
- Communicates with agencies, directors, and marketing conduits throughout the local community
- Directs committee of individual agency’s Promotion Directors to assist promoting events and distributing information in an efficient manner
- Works on special projects for the OSI Design Group
- Helps prepare and defend budget
